L. J.'s latest addition to his home theater is an Epson PowerLite S3 Multimedia Projector.
It is an excellent system for home entertainment:
- Bright 1600 Lumens
- Only weighs 5.6 pounds
- Different color modes for movies/TV, computer, gaming, etc.
- Only cost $729 (unlike the typical $1500-$2000 for data projectors)
Instead of buying a $200 ceiling mount for it, L. J. fashioned one from
- a small plastic cutting board
- a small ball-joint speaker mount
- a couple of L-brackets
- a 2x4
- and a few nuts, bolts, and screws
-- for about $12.
The projector was mounted low to provide clearance for the image past the ceiling fan/light.
