So, about a week and a half ago, my stomach and back started hurting one night. I couldn't sleep, but
after a few hours it subsided. I finally got to sleep.
Then, Sunday night I had a similar episode followed by another Monday night. However, Monday night it never
got any better. For about eight hours I waited as Tuesday morning came, unable to sleep, until I could go up
to Doc's. After seeing Annie at Doc's, I was sent straight to the hospital (BAR-H, Beckley) with a shot of
Demeral and Vistaril to ease the pain. It was my gall bladder.

An ultrasound revealed a single, large gall stone blocking my gall bladder duct. No wonder!
The surgeon, Dr. Shah, asked if Dr Pepper was my drink, seeing my tattoo. I said, "Oh yes!" He asked if I
drank alcohol. I said no. He said that that was good. Then he asked if I smoked. I said yes. He said, "That's
okay," which surprised me.
He said that we would go ahead and do the surgery right away. He explained the Laparoscopic procedure, and
shortly following our conversation, they came to take me to surgery. I remember seeing the O.R., and then
the next thing I remember is waking up back in my room. I understand I was given Morphine in the recovery room
because I was in pain. Margie made sure I was okay, and she headed home.
Wednesday came, and the attending doctor was impressed with how well I seemed to be doing. Yeah, I was sore, but
I was up walking around. My appetite had returned. He commented that it didn't even seem like I'd had surgery.
I was discharged about noon. I'm still sore, but I have some Hydrocodone to curb any pain. I can't drive until the
doctor says I can. I have an appointment on the 28th in the surgeon's office to see how things are going.
